KMSM Mission Statement:
To operate a dynamic, nonprofit, noncommercial FM radio station dedicated to serving Montana Tech, students of Montana Tech, the Butte-Silverbow communities and a worldwide online listenership. KMSM will broadcast diverse and alternative programming in music and content which is produced locally and reflects the educational, cultural, artistic, civic, and business interests of the listening community all while having fun.
Broadcasting A Mile High... We are, KMSM-FM!
KMSM is a non-profit educational radio station that is owned and managed by Associated Students of Montana Tech (ASMT). KMSM is located on the campus of Montana Tech in the beautiful city of Butte, Montana and is operated on a daily basis by a paid staff, volunteer students, and community members. KMSM also works side by side with Montana Tech Student Union Building activities coordinador and recognized by the Montana Tech Student Activities Council (SAC).
Montana Tech Students and residents of the local community are always encouraged to participate in the station's operation.
Licensed by the FCC as a non-commercial educational FM radio station and we operate at 103.9 MHz with 440 Watts of effective radiated power. Our FCC license is listed as variety, which allows KMSM to provide Southwest Montana and all of our internet listeners a broad range of music programming.
